Apollo is the son of Juneau (sire) and Mercedes (dam) and the grandson of Dakota and Tundra, thus, a third-generation Alaskan Malamute from Ruhmanns' Kennels. See photographs below! Click here to view Apollo's pedigree
Our little boy is all grown up! Apollo still eats like a horse, but, now he ALSO fancies himself quite the ladies' man!
Apollo has been OFA-certified Click here to view Apollo's OFA certificate. Additionally, Apollo's sire, Juneau, has been OFA-certified Click here, as well as his paternal grandparents, Dakota Click here and Tundra Click here. Apollo's dam, Mercedes, has not been OFA-certified (nor her sister, Lexus), but two of Mercedes' offspring, Kodi Click here and Isis (Apollo's sister) Click here and two of Lexus' offspring, Tara Click here and Sadie Click here have been OFA-certified.
Apollo has the temperament of his grandfather, Dakota, and the energy of his father, Juneau! Very docile and cuddly! And, just like Dakota, Apollo can put away an enormous amount of food daily and still crunch a handful of biscuits in a matter of mere seconds! Unlike his father, Juneau, however, Apollo does not care for water - except to drink! At 2 years of age, he has yet to exhibit any aggression towards the other males of our kennel - even when they are trying to intimidate him while running loose in the yard.
Apollo was impatiently waiting for Ron to finish repairing his pen ... when he realized he was too large to crawl under the fences, he had broken all the t-post ties the entire length of his pen (AND the next pen!) to visit Shinook and Timber next door. While Ron was repairing the fence, I had moved Shinook and Timber to a pen on the other side of the kennels and placed Pumpkin next door, who promptly decided to crawl under the fence to become better acquainted with the "studmuffin" once he had been returned to his pen.
Apollo loves to run! Almost as much as he likes to eat!
Apollo is a sweet boy! He loves everyone he meets! He's got a great temperament - never even snarls at the other males! A powerful male that loves to run. He knows the basic commands and, unlike our other Mals, water is strictly for drinking ... he does not appreciate being "hosed down" during the summer months.
We have paired Apollo with Pumpkin and hope to have black/white puppies available for Christmas!
